Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food


Amongst the lowing of cattle, the welcoming breeze and sunkissed landscape of “Pine Tree” – home to Maranoa Beef, lays a legacy of innovators, connectors, learners and educators. A generational story that continues today with us – Craig & Bec Beissel (and our children Beau & Maggie), as we strive to master whole of life animal care and responsible land management practices, whilst yielding 100% natural, ethically produced, premium quality produce.

Beginning in 1916, Bec’s Great Great Grandmother, Sophia Jane Brown or “Grannie Brown” as many affectionately knew her, leased and worked Pine Tree with her son Will, whilst her husband was stationed in France during World War 1. Despite facing harsh conditions and many challenges “Grannie Brown” went on to purchase the property in 1923. With the homestead at Pine Tree still housing the delicious smells of her recipes passed down through generations, “Grannie Brown” later transferred ownership to her son Will in 1925, whilst unceasingly working the farm, mustering on horseback well into her 70’s!

Now five generations on, we remain dedicated to ethical and premium beef (and now lamb) production and continue to advocate sustainable, virtuous practices in every single part of our paddock to plate process.

Built on integrity, resilience, courage and hard work, Maranoa Beef provides end-to-end transparency on where consumers’ produce comes from; connecting people with land and nature, farmer and food.

Maranoa Beef - Our Story


Awarded Maranoa’s 2017 Business of the Year, Maranoa Beef currently partners with Brisbane’s bakery giant – Uncle Bob’s Bakery and has featured on the cities Port Office Hotel menu; the 2019 Autumn Menu for the Governor of Qld and at various Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) events. From renowned celebrity chefs – Alistar McCleod, Steve Hursey, Matt Golinski, Glen Barrett and Adrian Richardson, to inspired home cooks, Maranoa Beef and Maranoa Lamb has already been enjoyed by many afar and now stars (exclusively) as signature beef and lamb dishes at Roma’s finest restaurant – Roma Explorers Inn.

Maranoa Beef provides a full range of beef and lamb cuts through value packed hampers. With several options to choose from, there are hampers to suit all different budgets and family sizes. Delivered direct from our farm to your door, all hampers are conveniently portioned, sealed and labelled, meaning no leaks, no mess and no fuss – just farm fresh, nutritious produce ready to pop straight into the freezer!
